Celebrities Who Know They're Israelites: What They're Really Saying (2024)

A short clip highlighting celebrities and public figures whose comments, imagery, or conversations have been interpreted as connecting Black identity with the ancient Israelites.

The idea of Hebrew Israelite identity has become increasingly visible in American culture, particularly through conversations involving Black Americans, biblical ancestry, Judaism, and the history of the ancient Israelites.

This clip raises a bigger question: Why are more Black Americans publicly questioning the traditional European portrayal of biblical Israelites—and asking whether their own ancestry is directly connected to the ancient biblical peoples?

The speakers sit at the intersection of history, Scripture, genealogy, African and African-American history, and competing interpretations of Israelite identity.

Watch the clip, listen to what they actually say, and investigate the history for yourself.
